When 61 Litres Isn't Enough

The V80 is for studios that have grown past what a 61-litre kiln can offer — whether that's because the load size is too large, the firing frequency is too high, or the work demands more headroom than the smaller IKON models can provide. At 82 litres, it's a meaningful step up in capacity without requiring a move to a front-loading professional kiln.

The triple-layer insulation is the V80's defining engineering feature. Three layers dramatically reduce heat loss through the kiln walls — the practical result is more even temperature distribution throughout the chamber (important when you're loading 82 litres of work at different positions), lower electricity consumption per firing, and faster recovery between loads. For studios firing regularly, the running cost difference over time is significant.

Like all IKON kilns, the V80 is manufactured in Stoke-on-Trent with a 3-year warranty. At this scale, the electrical installation requirements are more significant than for smaller models — call us before ordering and we'll talk you through what your studio will need.

Why the V80 Performs

Triple-Layer Insulation

Three layers of insulation around the firing chamber — a step above even the GXR's double-layer system. The extra insulation mass reduces heat loss through the walls, meaning the elements spend less energy maintaining temperature, the firing profile stays more consistent, and the kiln recovers to temperature faster after loading. 82-Litre Chamber
