Traditional Build, Proven Performance
The Fireworker 68 sits at the entry point of the Potterycrafts front-loading range — a 68-litre kiln for private users, studios, and schools who want the front-loading format at a mid-range capacity and price. Front-loading at 68 litres is particularly practical for studios packing careful loads of varied pieces, where the ability to see the full chamber from the front and place work accurately is more important than loading from above.
The traditional brick-to-brick door seal is a meaningful design choice. Fibre gasket seals — common on many kilns — degrade with repeated thermal cycling, progressively losing their sealing effectiveness and requiring replacement. The Fireworker uses a brick-to-brick seal: the door brick face meets the chamber brick face directly, providing consistent heat retention that doesn't degrade over time. It's a longer-lasting solution that holds up better in a studio that fires regularly.
Kanthal A1 elements sit in grooved brickwork — the standard approach for kilns at this price point, but with the premium element material. The maximum design temperature of 1300°C covers the full range of ceramic firing from earthenware through to stoneware and porcelain.
