Dual-Layer Micropore Insulation

The GXR's chamber is insulated with two layers of micropore board and a fibre blanket — a step up from standard single-layer insulation. This dramatically reduces heat loss through the kiln walls, resulting in more even temperatures throughout the chamber, faster heat-up times, and lower electricity consumption per firing. It's the detail that separates a good kiln from a great one at this price point.

61-Litre Chamber

The extra 15 litres over the V46 translates to meaningfully more loading flexibility — taller vases, more shelving levels, or simply a bigger batch of smaller pieces. The chamber is designed with a round footprint to maximise usable space and ensure consistent heat distribution around your work from the elements down the full height of the load.

KCR32C Digital Controller

The same reliable controller as the rest of the Ikon range, included as standard. Pre-loaded with common firing programmes and fully programmable for custom schedules. The WiFi upgrade (KCR32C WiFi) is available separately and connects your kiln to Kilncare's GATEway monitoring platform — so you can check temperatures, pause, or stop a firing remotely without being in the room.

Every V61 GXR order from Kiln Crafts includes the Ikon V61 Furniture Set — 3 ceramic shelves (365mm) and 12 props across four heights (25mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm).
