Kiln furniture isn't the most exciting purchase — but the wrong set, or the wrong size, will cost you in wasted space, uneven firings, and the frustration of pieces that don't come out as expected. Getting it right from the start makes a real difference to how your kiln performs.
The V46 Furniture Set is built specifically for the Ikon V46's 41.6cm chamber. The two 365mm shelves sit cleanly inside with enough clearance to handle heat circulation, and the twelve props — three each at 25mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm — give you enough combinations to configure the kiln for almost anything. Two levels of mugs and small bowls, a single shelf for taller vases, or a mix of heights for an asymmetric batch. You're in control of how the space gets used.
The ceramic construction handles repeated firings up to the V46's maximum temperature of 1315°C without degrading. These aren't props that will crumble after a few firings — they're built to last the life of the kiln.
Each shelf is a 365mm diameter round, sized to fit neatly inside the V46's 41.6cm chamber with the clearance needed for proper heat circulation. High-temperature ceramic construction means they won't warp, crack, or discolour even under repeated long firing cycles. A clean, stable surface for your work every time.
Three props each at 25mm, 50mm, 75mm and 100mm. Having a full set of four heights means you can configure single-level loads for tall pieces, two-level stacks for smaller work, or mixed arrangements for varied batches — without compromising the stability of either shelf. Proper prop height also improves airflow and heat distribution around your pieces.
The Ikon V46 fires up to 1315°C, and this furniture set is rated to match. Unlike cheaper alternatives that may crack or shed debris at higher temperatures, these props and shelves are designed to remain stable through earthenware, stoneware, and high-fire ceramic cycles. Buy them once and they'll outlast the kiln.
With two shelves and props ranging from 25mm to 100mm, you have plenty of options for how you load the V46. Stack both shelves for smaller pieces like mugs and bowls — the kiln's internal height of 33cm gives you comfortable clearance. Remove the upper shelf and use taller props for vases or larger sculptural work. The flexibility is the point: you're not locked into one way of loading, and you won't be hunting for the right prop height when it matters.
