A kiln on its own is half a set-up. Add the Poppy to your kiln order and the day the delivery lands you can sit down, throw something, and fire it — no second shop, no hunting for the bits you forgot.

  • One price — the wheel's. You pay what the Poppy costs on its own. The shelf, the apron and the clay are in the box at no charge. No "£X then another £160".
  • Poppy pottery wheel: the smallest wheel we make. 150W, 28cm wheelhead, 0–300 RPM, hall-effect foot pedal, 25kg. Takes up about as much floor as a dining chair and plugs into a normal socket — made for a spare room, garage or shed.
  • Wheel shelf (free): our purpose-built pine-top shelf, with the Gen 2 legs that fit the Poppy's frame. A work surface for tools and water right at the wheel, bolted on with a Phillips screwdriver in ten minutes. Usually £99.
  • Craft apron, your choice of colour (free): teal, pink, milk or red. Linen-cotton, full front, pockets for the tools you keep losing. Pick the colour when you add it.
  • 12.5kg of clay (free): enough to find your feet and fill a first firing.

Why we put this together

Most people who email us before buying a kiln open with some version of "I'm not a professional potter". You don't need to be. But you do need somewhere to make the thing you're going to fire — and we kept watching customers buy a kiln, then come back three weeks later for a wheel, then again for an apron, then ask where to get clay.

So this is the shortcut. One kiln order, one wheel package, and everything turns up together. The Poppy is for the person starting out, or short on space: a compact, quiet, simple wheel that's light enough to move and plenty for mugs, bowls and small pots.

We don't discount the wheel to make the bundle look clever. You pay what it costs, and the rest is simply free — because the whole point is that you keep making, not that you spend an afternoon comparing checkouts.

Everything arrives together. Apron on, clay out, wheel on — and the first thing you throw is the first thing you fire.

Poppy pottery wheel

150W motor, 28cm wheelhead, 0–300 RPM and the same smooth hall-effect foot pedal you get on the Daisy. 25kg and 50 × 40cm, in sage green with a white splash pan that unclips with a button. One of our own wheels, backed for 3 years.

Wheel shelf

Untreated solid pine top on a powder-coated steel frame, with Gen 2 legs made for the Poppy's frame. Bolts straight on, no extra floor space, tools and water where you want them. Usually £99 — included free.

Craft apron — teal, pink, milk or red

Linen-cotton blend, full front coverage, a generous cut and proper pockets. Made for us, so the colours sit with the wheel rather than fighting it. Usually £44.95 — included free.

12.5kg of clay

A bag of throwing clay so your first session can start the day the box arrives, and the kiln has something to fire. Usually £15 — included free.
