The Durston Pottery Wheel is a serious, high torque machine built for control, stability and long-term use. Formed from high quality die cast aluminium and driven by a three-phase brushless motor, it offers smooth, predictable performance from the slowest speeds through to 280 rpm.
Every element of the Durston Pottery Wheel has been considered as a complete system, where stability, control and durability work together during everyday use. From the structure of the machine to the way power is delivered and controlled, the focus remains on consistency, balance and reliability throughout long sessions at the wheel.
The structure of the Durston Pottery Wheel is formed from high quality die cast aluminium, creating a rigid and stable platform that supports accurate work and long-term durability. Adjustable feet allow the working height to be set while protecting the floor and maintaining a solid, planted feel.
Power is provided by an extremely high torque, high quality three-phase brushless motor, offering excellent control at very low speeds and smooth performance at higher speeds up to 280 rpm. Drive is belt driven for quiet and efficient power delivery, with speed controlled using a die cast aluminium foot pedal designed for precision and maintenance free operation.
The 12 ½ inch aluminium wheel head is mounted on a unique spindle system that allows the wheel head to be removed by hand while providing maximum protection for the waterproof, high quality bearings. A large slop tray surrounds the wheel head, designed to be easy to wipe clean, keep the operator clean and includes a drainage hole.
The Durston Pottery Wheel includes multiple pre tapped threaded holes throughout the body for mounting additional equipment or accessories. A useful movable shelf can be positioned in many different ways, and the body of the pottery wheel is compatible with two different seat configurations, allowing the setup to be adapted to individual working preferences.
